Gaucho is an Argentinian steakhouse. The restaurant is a true paradise for meat-lovers. Grilled juicy steaks of any cut served from the flames.
Gaucho is a cowboy in Argentina, he is a national symbol of heroism, bravery and courage. Gaucho is a chain of restaurants with locations in the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong.
ATMOSPHERE AND DECOR
The restaurant is located in the heart of Central on Queen's Road. It is a perfect place to have a romantic dinner or a business lunch.
The ambience is quite intimate and posh with an extravagant modern design - silver chrome installations, contemporary black glass tables, dim lighting and an iconic cowhide armchairs
Brunch at Gaucho is not a buffet or semi-buffet. The concept is quite differrent - the menu consists of starters, mains and desserts.
All starters are served to your table and they are unlimited. The choice is not so huge but all dishes are true Argentinian cuisine.
So there are five starters for sharing - tuna ceviche, sea bass ceviche, mini empanadas, braised beef back ribs and watermelon salad.
While waiting the starters coming we got a signature cheese bread of Argentina - pan de bono.
Ceviche is a dish of marinated raw fish or seafood. Tuna ceviche with guacamole was amazing.
After ceviche we tried another Argentinian dish -empanadas.
An empanada is a stuffed baked pastry popular in Latin America and Spain.
Here we tried two types of empanadas with beef and corn filling.
Braised beef back ribs
Watermelon salad with feta, almonds and avocado is very refreshing and a perfect match to your champagne.
As all starters are unlimited you can order them as many times as you want. For us it was more than enough to feel full and to move on to the mains.
And... Drumroll... Time for a true Argentinian steak.
From the mains you have a choice of rib eye steak, sirloin steak, grilled chicken, oven-baked sea bass or risotto.
Quite obviously, we chose rib eye and sirloin steak. Each steak is 300 g and served with chips and salad.
Number one in our rating is rib eye steak with chimichurri sauce - so tender, so juicy, so irresistible!
Chimichurri is the best sauce ever! Originally from Argentina but gains popularity all over the world.
The ingredients are very simple - wine vinegar, olive oil, garlic, parsley and oregano.
Sirloin steak was of a very high quality, perfectly cooked with a choice of the sauce - mushroom, black pepper or blue cheese sauce.
By the way all beef is grass-fed, wet-aged and imported from Argentina.
Few words about desserts, there are three of them - a brownie, cheesecake and mango and passion fruit mess.
Overall, brunch at Gaucho is a unique experience to try Argentinian cuisine and to have super delicious, juicy steaks of a high quality.
Paradise for meat-lovers.
In love with Gaucho.
